By placing an order with us, you’re helping animals in need!

It’s important for us to share how much we care for animals. Everyone has or should have a cause that they are deeply invested in, whether it’s for advocacy, donations, volunteering or assisting in any way you can. For us, it is the care and well-being of animals. We love dogs and the unconditional love they offer. There is nothing better than coming home to a wiggling, wagging dog butt so happy to see us no matter what. Day in, day out, our dogs love us to death and we love them just as much back.

I often think about how spoiled our dogs are. With the warm beds, the ridiculously expensive dog food for Juno’s food allergies and sensitive stomach. Treats and toys and play time and cuddles and snuggles and sleeping on furniture and in bed.
A warm home.
Shelter from the elements.
Vaccinations.
Medicine when they are sick.
Access to surgery when they need it….
And as much love and attention that we can offer. Even then, I feel like it’s not enough. I feel like they spend long hours alone during the day. Some days they don’t get enough exercise. Some times I wonder if I don’t do enough with them. Should I take them on more walks?

And then I realize how bad an overwhelming amount of dogs, cats and all animals for that matter have it. We feel it’s important to be advocates for their well-being because they can’t speak up for themselves. Unfortunately many suffer from starvation, illness, injuries and worse. There are too many awful things that can happen to a homeless animal.

Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them.“

This is my favorite photo, taken in 2016 of me, Juno (the Australian Cattle Dog) and Hoosier (the Siberian Husky).

As you may already know, we strive to donate $1.00 from every order we receive to the general well-being and support of animals by donating periodically throughout the year to Animal Friends in Pittsburgh, Pa; The Turks and Caicos Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, & new this year: Potcake Place in Turks and Caicos. By purchasing a gift from us, whether it’s to celebrate your cotton anniversary, plan your wedding ,  decorate your new home or to give a gift to a pet lover,  you are helping out!

So as you can only imagine, we were totally stoked when we found out that our web hosting company, WPX Hosting, helps 350+ homeless dogs every single day and are making efforts to adopt out the homeless dogs as well as open their own facility to get them out of the poor conditions of a closed industrial site in Bulgaria.

We made the switch to WPX Hosting about 2 years ago to provide a better online experience for our customers shopping our eCommerce store. We have since been blown away with the service and speed of our website as well as how quickly they act to fix problems that arise. As a customer, we were already REALLY happy with their service, but now we’re seriously in awe of the fact that WPX Hosting shares our values and desire to help animals.

The work they are doing is amazing and I am proud to be able to say that a portion of our annual hosting purchase from them goes to support these dogs in Bulgaria. In conjunction with Dana Foundation (Note:  The Dana Foundation website is not translated, however The WPX Hosting post is and is well worth a read!), they are making great efforts to feed and care for dogs in need. You can read more about all of WPX Hosting & the Dana Foundation efforts here. Warning: Lots of photos of adorable dogs that you may just want to adopt!

If you happen to need website hosting or know someone that does, we highly recommend WPX Hosting! Not only for their amazing hosting service, seriously – they blew our previous big name provider out of the water – but for their strong values and commitment to their community and the well-being of animals! And who doesn’t like to purchase from a business that does good? We know we do. =)
