Musings on Justice
I’ve been preoccupied of late with questions of morality, of right and wrong, good and evil. Sometimes the delineation between the two is a sharp line. Sometimes it’s a blur and often you just know when you see it. These questions are vital ones because they tether us to each other, to humanity. Not everyone feels this way. Not everyone sees the sharp line, only the blur.
It is a matter of record of fact and facts have no moral judgement.
They merely state what is.
Not what we think of them, not what we feel.
They just are.
Only the facts matter.
—
We can be weak. We can be evil.
The only way to stop us from killing each other is to make rules, laws.
And stick to them.
They don’t always work.
But mostly, they do.
And they’re all we’ve got.
—
Villains have come and gone,
But there were some battles that never ended.
So we rush on.
And remind ourselves to be fearless,
When we are fighting for justice.
